ClearPath Homeschool Testing provides Florida homeschool testing and portfolio evaluations online for families across the state, helping students meet both Florida law requirements and Step Up For Students scholarship requirements.
All tests are FL DOE approved norm-referenced assessments. We accept all four Step Up scholarships: PEP, FES-UA, FES-EO and FTC: through the EMA Marketplace.
Registered home education families (FS 1002.41): your annual evaluation must be a certified-teacher portfolio review, or a nationally normed test administered by a certified teacher. Our portfolio evaluation and live teacher-proctored testing both meet that standard; parent-administered testing does not.
PEP scholarship students: PEP is separate from home education, and parent-administered testing is accepted for the annual testing requirement.
Private school students (FES-EO, FTC, FES-UA private school): testing is usually handled by your school. If it isn’t, we can test you.
Requirements can change. Please confirm current rules with Step Up For Students and your school district.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Florida homeschool students need testing every year?
Florida homeschool families operating under a registered Florida Home Education Program must complete an annual evaluation under Florida Statute 1002.41. This may be completed through a portfolio evaluation by a Florida certified teacher, standardized testing, or other approved options.
What tests are approved for Step Up For Students scholarships?
Step Up scholarships require a FL DOE approved norm-referenced test. ClearPath offers Renaissance Star (reading and math, $75) and the DORA + ADAM bundle ($100), both on the approved list. Parent-administered testing meets the PEP requirement. Registered home education and FES-UA homeschool students need the live teacher-proctored version, because FS 1002.41 requires a certified teacher to administer the test.
Can Florida homeschool testing be done online?
Yes. ClearPath offers two testing options: (1) parent-administered testing: Renaissance Star or the DORA + ADAM bundle, given at home on your schedule, which meets the PEP requirement; or (2) live teacher-proctored testing via Zoom, where a Florida-certified teacher administers and monitors the session. Registered home education and FES-UA homeschool families need the live teacher-proctored option or a portfolio evaluation.
How long does it take to get test results or a portfolio evaluation letter?
Test results and homeschool portfolio evaluation letters are delivered within 1–3 business days. You’ll receive official documentation meeting Florida’s annual evaluation requirements.
What’s the difference between a Florida portfolio evaluation and standardized testing?
Portfolio evaluation is a review of your student’s work samples by a Florida certified teacher: the most common option for registered Florida home education families under FS 1002.41. Standardized testing (DORA, ADAM, or Renaissance Star) provides norm-referenced scores: required for Step Up scholarships and some private schools.
Do private school students need annual testing in Florida?
Private school students on FES-EO, FTC, or FES-UA are required to be tested annually in grades 3–10, and the participating private school normally administers that test and reports scores to you. If your school does not, we can test any private school student. Testing fees can be paid from ESA funds remaining after tuition.
